Team Events
Hockey is more fun with friends. A few things through the season to help the kids (and parents) gel off the ice.
Season Kickoff Party
Shortly after the draft on October 23, once the roster is set. Players, siblings, and parents, to meet each other and hand out jerseys. Two options, and families vote:
- Roller rink: 2-hour skate session, pizza after
- Bowling: 2 hours of lanes, snacks between frames, coaches vs. kids

Opening Night: Friday, November 6
Casco Bay Hockey kicks off the season with Opening Night at Casco Bay Arena, 5:00 to 8:00 PM. The evening has 10U Tier IV exhibition games (our division), an open skate, raffle baskets, a bake sale, CBHA swag, December raffle calendar tickets, and heated seats for sale. All proceeds go back to the association.
- Tier IV families are asked to donate food and drinks for the bake sale and concessions: baked goods, packaged snacks, chips, candy, bottled water, sports drinks, soda. Drop-off details are coming from the league.
- Whether and when the Capitals skate in the exhibition games is up to the league. We will post it here as soon as we know.
Waterville Valley Tournament
Our team tournament is confirmed: Waterville Valley, New Hampshire, February 26 to 28. A ski-town weekend, so plan on lodging Friday and Saturday night. Game times and hotel details post here once the tournament releases them.
MEAHA League and Playoffs
Our regular season games are in the MEAHA league (Maine Amateur Hockey Association), against other Maine teams at our level. At the end of the season, teams that qualify play in the MEAHA tournament, which is essentially the state playoffs. Whether we get there is up to the kids and how the season goes.
Maine Mariners Night
Every team gets a night at a Mariners game in Portland, in team jerseys. Casco Bay's colors come from the original Mariners, so it is a bit of a tradition. Date posted here once it is booked.
