Goalie Corner
The home base for our goalies and their families — how we develop young goalies, the drills we use, and the skills roadmap behind it all.
🥅 Drill Library
The drills we run at our goalie station, with rink diagrams, steps, and coaching points. Filter by category, level, or space — any coach or parent can run them.
📐 Skills & Drill Design
The skills pyramid, the save cycle, and where 10U goalies fit — plus USA Hockey's principles for designing drills that actually translate to games.
🧤 This Week for Goalies
Every weekly plan includes a goalie-specific plan alongside the team plan — what your goalie will work on this week and why.
Goalie Development Philosophy
At 10U, we build the foundation. Four pillars guide every goalie session we run:
01 · Skate First
The best young goalies are the best skaters. Edges, T-pushes, shuffles, and recoveries come before anything else.
02 · Track the Puck
Eyes lead everything. We train goalies to watch the puck all the way into the body — head first, hands second.
03 · Save, Then Control
Making the save is step one. Steering rebounds to safe ice and covering when needed is what wins games.
04 · Compete & Have Fun
Battle for every puck, celebrate every save, and leave the rink smiling. Confidence grows from both.
For Goalie Parents
Goalie is the best position in hockey — and the one where a little support goes furthest. Arrive 40 minutes early (the gear takes longer), cheer effort over results, and never worry about goals against at this age: we count battles won and saves made, not the scoreboard. Questions about equipment fitting or whether your player should try goalie? Grab the goalie coach any time.
